💃🏽 Attire: Full, flowing skirt. Shoes are not necessary. It is recommended to dance Zambra barefoot.

Meet Your Guide... 

Native Spaniard Puela Lunaris is an Award-Winning Researcher, Master Dance Educator, and Flamenco Cultural Consultant.

Hailed as the "Isadora Duncan of Flamenco" for her lyrical, barefoot style, she was raised in the ancient Morisco castle of Montánchez (Spain), a cultural legacy that breathes life into her artistic mission.

Participants in her workshops benefit from a rare blend of ancestral heritage and academic rigor through the Lunaris Flamenco Technique™—a dance pedagogy that is both historically rooted and artistically liberating..

Puela has researched and deconstructed Lola Flores’ Zambra dance style since 1993, and has taught Zambra internationally since 2003. Her research has been presented at leading academic institutions, including the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, the National Library of Spain, and the University of Cádiz, where she received the prestigious Williams & Humbert Research Award for her work on Laban Movement Analysis applied to Lola Flores’ dance.

Founder of Dances of the World Society (1994) and the Lunaris Online Academy (since 2008), Puela has guided over 1,000 students across 11 countries, As Founding Member of the New York Flamenco Festival's Educational Program, she served as Cultural Consultant and Teaching Artist for over a decade at New York City Center. She has also taught at distinguished institutions including The Juilliard School, Instituto Cervantes, City University of New York, The Performing Arts Network in Miami, and Centro Andaluz de Danza in Seville.

Always working on her professional development, Puela has earned a Master's degree in Digital Media (New York University), a Bachelor's in Dance Pedagogy and Spanish Language/Culture (State University of New York).
