¡Hola! I am Puela Lunaris. Thanks for letting me be your guide into the ancestral secrets of Zambra as masterfully embodied by the legendary Lola Flores.
She has been a guiding light for me since I was a child and I have been researching and deconstructing her magical dancing since 1993.
In 2023, I was honored with the prestigious Williams & Humbert Award for my research on Laban Movement Analysis Applied to Lola's Zambra dance for Dance Education.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Culture and Dance Education from the State University of New York (SUNY) and a Master’s in Digital Media from New York University (NYU), I’m dedicated to safeguarding flamenco traditions in danger of extinction, with a focus on Zambra and the ancient feminine flamenco dance style.
As a multimedia producer, dance educator, and founder of the Flamenco Roots Program,I combine my passion for digital storytelling and dance to share the magic of my culture with you!
